Enjoying their new pjs from NeNeHere we are again. Another week has flown by, it's FRIDAY already and I'm just sitting down to post. It has been a crazy week, so I have a little bit of an excuse, right? Chip's parents came up to NC and we headed over to his aunt's house last weekend to visit the FAMILY. We had a fun time and I even got to eat for the first time at the world famous (okay, maybe just in the Summey house) Lexington Bbq. There is just something about people from NC and their bbq. I didn't mention my favorite "Sonny's" during the meal for fear of being booed, but I did ask for my coleslaw to be on the side of my sandwich, so I stood out as the guest. I'm not sure if I like the coleslaw better on the side or if I just do that to irritate them!! Anyways, all kidding aside it was really good, but I still was craving some sweet sauce when we left. While we had some free babysitting, Chip and I finally found time to FURNITURE shop and found us a new sofa. I really love it, well I will love it when it gets here in a few weeks. Our current sofa was the first one we bought after we got married and it has lived a wonderful almost 10 years, but is ready to retire. Or at least move on to a new home. Which reminds me, I've got to locate some new owners for it. Audrey and Andrew had a great time visiting all of the family and loved spending the weekend Granny and Paw-paw.
Although this isn't focused I wanted to show a picture of them watching videos in the car. I don't understand why they both ride like this. It can't be that comfortable???Audrey wasn't her usual happy self Saturday evening and I just attributed it to her missing her nap, but she was coming down with something. By Sunday night she was a sick baby with a high FEVER and a tummy ache. Turns out she had an ear infection too, but we didn't find that out till Wednesday. Whatever it was she had, it ended up being passed along to Chip, his parents, and his aunt. All of them spent most or part of the week in bed. As of Friday, I think everyone is back or almost back to normal, except Audrey. She still acts like she doesn't feel well and is very cranky. I'm just praying that she gets back to her usual self soon!!!
Also today our dear FRIENDS, The Senkels, are all packed up and moving. I am so glad that this will bring them closer to us, but I do know that it will be hard. Not just the physical difficulties of moving yourself several states away with 3 little ones in tow, but the emotional difficulties of leaving your home of the last 8 years, your new house that you loved so much, and all of your close friends. Please remember them over these next few weeks and pray that they have a smooth transition from the Big "D" to small town life.
Chip and I had the chance to watch FIREPROOF this week, finally! Everyone kept asking me if I had seen it, so I'm glad to say that I finally have. I had been forewarned that it was a little "cheesy", so I went in expecting that but I have to say that I was really surprised by the film. I really loved it. Yes, it was cheesy at moments and very cheesy at others, but after that Georgia accent grew on me for a little bit, I have to say that the story was really great. The ideas that love is a decision, not just a feeling and that you can't always follow your heart because sometime your heart will deceive you are so true and really spoke to me. I hope anyone and everyone out there who is in a struggling marriage or newly married could see this. It's a good reminder of how things can get in a marriage if you are not working at keeping it strong. Marriage is not easy and just speaking from personal experience if you are not working at it daily and if you don't have the right "heart" when you are working at it, then things can get bad quickly.
Well, this post has turned out to be a lot longer than I planned, so if you are still reading, you get to find out what kind of FUN we are having tonight. We are headed out to see Dora: Live on Stage! Andrew is so excited and Audrey hopefully will be once we get there. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading.
